Unsurprisingly, this is another common concern expressed by patients prior to considering Cataract, Lens replacement and Laser vision correction procedures.

So - In a nutshell ..

NO.

MOST PATIENTS REPORT LITTLE MORE THAN SLIGHT SENSATIONS THANKS TO POWERFUL ANAESTHETIC EYE DROPS.

Think about it .. it simply would not be possible for people to undergo eye surgery treatments if they were deeply uncomfortable.  The typical patient reports some mild pressure sensations rather than pain.

patients undergoing cataract or lens replacement surgery also report a range of coloured lights sometimes described as a kaleidoscope and can be quite hypnotic!

Finally some sensation of eye movements is also commonly reported.

The vast majorty of patients that we treat really do not report 'PAIN' during their eye surgery with us.
